Sad Girl Poems (Christopher Soto [A.K.A. Loma])

"But all I own are these little lips. They kiss, then close [like the lid on a casket]. Please, let me die alone."

Christopher Soto is a queer poet and activist based in New York. Sad Girl Poems is a small poetry collection that deals with themes of suicide, domestic violence, queer youthhood and homelessness. I bought the collection because I liked the cover. Turns out, I really like the words, too. Soto writes with such gusto. The poems cut deep; they're like slaps in the face that low-key feel good. The poetry is raw, timely and really hits home. Buy it here: http://siblingrivalrypress.bigcartel.com/product/sad-girl-poems-by-christopher-soto
