"When Racism Dies" (Kwabena Foli)

"i will nae-nae upon hearing the news
whip it at the funeral
dab at the burial
do the d-lo shuffle at the repast..."

Just a gem of a poem from Revise the Psalm, a great anthology of poems, stories and essays inspired by Gwendolyn Brooks' writings. I love how tongue-in-cheek this poem is. Racism ain't going no where, it's just gonna evolve and morph. I hate when people say "we just need to have mixed babies!" and "those old white racists need to die!" White supremacy ain't a numbers game: Read: colonialism in Africa, South America, and India still happened despite whites being super-outnumbered . Read: South Africa's population is 9% white and they still have total economic control over the country.
